A race weekend poem

Some of us are new, and others are old vets,
But as race weekend approaches, the more excited we get.
We've been reaching it long and bustin' our butts,
getting ourselves tired and hurting for what?
I'm sure the newbies have been pondering for some time,
you'll see what keeps us going with that first stroke off the starting line!
The experience  will stay in your memory forever,
The first time that we do a real race start together.
Us old vets still remember our first race,
We weren't sure of the proper way to rotate!
We're still as excited as we once were back then,
We know what to do when Marilyn says "Power TEN!"
Rose Festival is going to be a very fun time for all,
Let's dig deep and reach it long so we can really HAUL!
